Recrear is a newly born initiative aiming to create an international community of motivated students and young professionals to promote and facilitate community-based projects worldwide. This summer, we are organizing Recrear.beta to provide training and learning experience to 21 Recrear Fellows on nonprofit management, community leadership, and intercultural communication. Within Recrear.beta recrear is organizing a conference that will be hosted at the BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt on August 10th on the topic of International Development.
Presentation "CSR and development cooperation" by the department of tomorrow
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is first of all known as a framework for local companies to monitor and ensure social and ethical standards and international norms for its employees, customers, stakeholders and communities.
More recently, CSR has become also promising approach for international enterprises to expand their activities by socially responsible investments in developing countries. These social marketing strategies facilitate the promotion of their products by gaining increasing publicity and a positive reputation.
The CSR-presentation focus therefore on both fields of corporate social performance but draws special attention to the latter approach and illustrates the engagement of CSR in development cooperation with concrete examples from sub-Saharan Africa.
Dominik Schmengler (has been working in West Africa 4 years) is presenting his experiences and future potentials of CSR wihtin the development cooperation.
